For more than 15 years and with only one break, XKs Unlimited has hosted an annual open house as a means to unite Jaguar enthusiasts and as a "thank you" to its customers. But to keep the event fresh and to broaden the company's support to Jaguar owners, XKs Unlimited has opted to hold its open house every other year and to sponsor the Western States Meet on the "off" years.
"Our open house is great fun," says XKs Unlimited President Jason Len, "but our Western States sponsorship reaches an even greater number of Jaguar enthusiasts and solidifies our long-held commitment to Jaguar clubs."
Every other year, the JCNA hosts a national meet, called the Challenge Championship. (To read more about the 2005 event, held in Atlanta, go to xks.com.) In the "off" years, the various JCNA clubs in the western U.S. and Canada hold their own meet, hence the "Western States" moniker. This year's event will include a concours, rally, tour, slalom, an awards banquet and a themed dinner party, "Return to the Forties." The 2006 Western States Meet will be hosted by the Jaguar Owners Club of Oregon and is slated for July 11-14 in Bend, Oregon, which the locals are quick to point out is on the sunny side of the Cascades.
In 2005, Bend celebrated a century of official city hood. Much has changed. Once a rough- and-rugged timber boomtown, Bend is now Oregon's most cosmopolitan city east of the Cascades. But the essential Bend character remains, as do many qualities that have made it a leisure and recreation travel destination: fresh air, tall trees, clean water, friendly people and inspiring scenic beauty. The last of the huge sawmills closed a decade ago and has been replaced with a river-side district called the Old Mill, which includes shopping, restaurants, hotels and an outdoor amphitheater. In short, Bend is out with the old and in with the New West. The host hotel for Western States is the newly remodeled Seventh Mountain Resort (www.seventh-mountain.com). (Be sure to check out their website, as a picture truly is worth a thousand words in this case.) Complete registration forms and updated information is available at westernstatesmeet.com. Everyone who registers by March 31 will be eligible for a $600.00 cash drawing. The drawing will be held at the Farewell Breakfast on Friday.
The registration fee will include entry and participation in all scheduled events, six meals, car badge and a Western States commemorative jacket. Your entry also includes participation in a drawing for two round-trip tickets to England. Partial packages are not available, however extra meal tickets may be purchased by registrants with prior notification. Any special meal requirements should also be addressed with prior notification. Please note: Pre-meet activities and The Seventh Mountain Resort room rates are not included in the registration fee. Registration deadline is June 30, 2006.

The Seventh Mountain Resort Information:The Wednesday Concours d'Elegance will be held on the green at the Resort. Bachelor, where one can take the chair lift to the top of the mountain for a fantastic view, or at one of the many gorgeous Cascade lakes retreats.
