Jaguar's entire sedan line-up, including the XJ range, is getting a sportier look for 2006 - one that Jaguar hopes will really 'mesh' with customers. Each XJ receives racing-inspired, stainless steel mesh front grille inserts.
Previously, mesh grilles were reserved for Jaguar's supercharged R Performance models, but for '06, every new Jaguar sedan - from the X-TYPE 3.0 to the latest XJ Super V8 Portfolio flagship - will feature the new grille. However, to distinguish the highperformance R models, they'll continue to feature a body-colored surround, as opposed to a chrome surround.
For 2006, the aluminum-bodied XJ gets other exterior changes to give it a cleaner, even more distinctive look. Body side moldings have been removed, while two new wheel styles have been added.
The standard wheel for the XJ8 and XJ8 L is now a new 18-inch, 15-spoke 'Tucana' rim, while the standard XJR wheel for 2006 is the five-spoke, 19- inch 'Sabre' wheel. The bold 20-inch 'Sepang' alloy rim is available for the first time on the Super V8 as an option.
Two new colors are also added to XJ's palette, with Winter Gold replacing Topaz and Indigo Blue replacing Pacific Blue.
